Donnemarie-Dontilly and the Brie region’s mediaeval churches

A fantastic 18-km hike done on an early September day when the weather was absolutely perfect. From the pretty little town of Donnemarie-Dontilly, this hike takes in a number of small hamlets and villages, each one of which has its own church, some in a spectacular position, such as the church at Paroy on top of a hill just outside the village. It’s a good undulating trail, with a good nice mix of woodland, open fields and great views. Plus we found a great and friendly Turkish restaurant on the main Square in Donnemarie for lunch after we completed the hike. And we came home with about 2 kilos of delicious apples of various unfamiliar varieties that were growing wild in untended orchards
